What a week!

Wow--what a week it has been. Let's just say it's been so busy it's hard to believe it is over already!!! It's been a couple of weeks since I've been able to post anything, but I hope to catch up here in the next week on what is going on. Sorry I haven't gotten back to those of you following the farming side of the blog--we will try to cover where we are at in the harvest process this coming week. For the most part the beans have been done for a good couple of weeks except for a very small amount over by Rushmore that were late-planted wet spots. The guys are working on the wet corn pile right now and Eric is discovering that the corn yields are looking quite well so far for this year. From what I understand the beans that people had around Luverne ranged anywhere from 35-55 bushel/acre depending on soil type and if you got the few August rains that came through. I'll have to check with Eric where our beans ended for an average. I think they did do pretty good since we got a couple of those nice rains in August : )

It's looking so pretty out right now. The trees are such wonderful different shades of color and the lawns are about the greenest I've ever seen for this time of year. I can't believe I'm still mowing as much as I do (or should), but I'll gladly mow if it means keeping this beautiful lawn around for a little longer!

It's been a busy week for all of us. I went back into work this week to help out with taxes and to train my replacement on payroll, etc. When you are trying to get yourself and 3 kids ready to leave the house by 7:15 you really need to start your morning early : ) I will be glad to be at home this week and get caught up on stuff in the house and around the yard, but I did enjoy my time back at work. You forget what adult conversation is like sometime when you spend a lot of time at home in the fall!

Matthew is still loving school. He is soooo proud of all the stuff he takes home from Kindergarten. We love looking at all his papers and it is so exciting watching him learn new things. I'm so glad he enjoys school even now when he knows Dad is out harvesting corn without him.

Kierra loves "school" as well. She wishes she could go more often than once a week, but that is all I can handle right now : ) It's so hard to believe how fast she is growing up too. She is so smart--she continues to amaze me with what she all comprehends. I'm afraid she will be a very "smart" teenage girl someday too.

Caleb continues to be just a very happy little guy. He has his fussy moments like all babies, but he is so laid back most of the time and is so much fun to be around. Hard to believe he is 4 months already too.

Well I need to get some sleep--a lot of late, short nights here lately so we'll work on some postings and pictures next week......
